The Electric bike hire project
The ATC was approached by the National Trust as part of the development of their Green Transport plan for Gibson Mill. As the area is one of extremely steep hills, cycling is not a mode of transport which can be accessed by everyone.
However an electric bike will flatten those hills – and we developed a plan for an Electric Bike hire scheme which would run between the ATC, the train station and Gibson Mill. The project will also include a bike recycling facility.
Similar schemes have been successfully run in other areas with a similar landscape and the ATC and the National Trust look forward to being able to establish the project when a suitable sponsor can be found. |
